The Monte Vista Condominiums in San Jose, CA  95126 was built in 2008 in an up and coming neighborhood with lots of activity for today's city neighbor.  Formerly the Del Monte Cannery , Plant #3, in an industrial zone, this area is seeing some major revitalization as a need for more housing is apparent  with two new multi-level apartments  under construction where the former Cheim Lumber Company was located (where the 808 Apartments are being built) and the Ohlone Project, enhancing a forgotten neighborhood with a new park, children's play area, dog park, and soccer field are likely just the start of the modernization plans in this area.  The area is prime for development with old residences and industrial land.

The Monte Vista Condo complex is composed of one, two, and three bedroom models in the four floors above the gated garage, with two entry gates and one and two parking spaces depending on the units.  Be sure to look at this link for the latest homes and condos in this area.  These condo units typically include a laundry room, small patio, and storage.  There are 235 condos and 148 townhouses in the complex next door.  While there aren't too many complex amenities, the homeowner dues are on the medium   side compared to most condo complexes in Silicon Valley, so this is a nice benefit on one's cash flow.  Located between Willow Glen, Midtown and Downtown San Jose, it is also conveniently close to the 87, 280, and 17 freeways, Los Gatos Creek and bike path, San Jose State University, Diridon Station, SAP Center, Whole Foods, and the southern tip of the proposed future Google Transit Village.  The new soccer fields across the street are expected to be ready for community use in early 2018 and a Sprouts Market  is being built where the old Orchard Supply Hardware building was on San Carlos Avenue.

If you like a modern style and look, want something newer in the Central San Jose area, and like the city lifestyle, then this could be your place.   I just listed another one  in the complex with my partner, Patricia, and the seller mentioned you may have an electric BBQ to cook outdoors,  however, be sure to check with the complex rules.   They have several elevators making this a convenient and very accessible facility.  They do allow pets, however, please be sure to check the complex rules for restrictions.  Across the street is the dog park separated for small and large dogs, and I must say, it sure seems like a popular hot spot for the furry friends and their humans!  The old Orchard Supply  Hardware on San Carlos Avenue moved next door, and I'm told a new Sprouts Market will be moving in, though it looks like it may be awhile (perhaps the end of 2018?) before it opens based on my recent drive by.
